Full disclosure… yes, President Trump is an economic bully.
That said, rashly “standing up to a bully” usually gets your ass kicked.
Just ask Mr. Miyagi!
The smart response is to painfully & patiently develop oneself to be more powerful & resilient. If CANZAK will help cool. Is it the silver bullet, absolutely not and I don’t think that’s the suggestion being made in Brent’s opinion.
Encouragingly it does start the conversation Cdns need to have and FWIW I’m onside. I believe others should stop navel gazing (a reflex past time of Cdns) and start doing. The times call for action, and I don’t mean socialism/globalism. Self-determinism is our opportunity, though many consider it kryptonite. Stockholm Syndrome is on full display across Canada, and it’s resulting in too many Canadians engaged in cosplay vs actually being Canadian patriots.
Pierre Elliott Trudeau sold Canada out to the international Banking Cartel in 1974. Federal debt has increased 5000% since.
Brian Mulroney introduced NAFTA which has systematically destroyed Canada's manufacturing sector.
90% of Canada's gold reserves were sold under Jean Chretien. Harper signed us up for Agenda 21 and the TPP.
Justin Trudeau destabilized our economy and demoralized the nation.
Not a single govt has been 'Canada first' in over 50 years. We've been sold down the river by our own govts for decades.
And it’s because “Orange Man is bad” that, liberals are now defending and advocating for a central banker to be our countries next PM.
I guess defending big pharma (Vaccine mandates are critical infrastructure don’t you know) and enabling the rejuvenation of a quasi CDN military industrial complex just isn’t enough. The speed with which so many trained seals went from "Canada doesn't need an army because we're the first post-national state" to "join me to fight for Canada like a patriot in the coming trade war I've no interest in avoiding" is stunning.
So I ask, what change must we endure to become a much stronger and capable country? Again, hopefully not more of the same.

Or, the 51st State, our choice.
